“B A L A N C E” is an exhibition about a series of works created by Claire Bamplekou and George Kostoglou in 2020; which was only made possible due to the kind participation of Alexandros Zarmakoupis.

This work is the product of playful experimentation between a dancer, a photographer and a visual artist.

Through the dance of opposing forces; moments of harmonious equilibrium emerge. 

The concept of balance, even though elusive, has very real and tangible applications in modern society.

In Math balance can often be found in equations, such as 2 + 3 = 5, where two distinctive parts add up to the same value. Whilst in Chemistry electric currents are produced through the imbalance of subatomic particles.

Finding the center of balance, the point where things meet in equality is a point of transcendence, where the whole becomes larger than the sum of its parts.

From Math to Philosophy to everyday life, understanding balance has been a pivotal point in harnessing the powers of the natural world.
